About the Taney County Food Coalition

The Taney County Food Policy Coalition is a collaborative partnership dedicated to building a healthier, more equitable, and more sustainable local food system for all residents of Taney County. The coalition was established through the leadership of Christian Action Ministries (CAM), the community food pantry, after receiving a federal National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) grant to launch the project, Nourishing Taney County: Taney County Food Policy Coalition.

This initiative brings together community organizations, local farmers and producers, schools, businesses, and residents to identify opportunities and develop solutions that strengthen our local food system. Our work focuses on expanding access to healthy, nutritious foods, fostering stronger relationships between local producers and institutions, and creating lasting partnerships that support both community health and local agriculture. By working together, we aim to improve food access, support our local economy, and ensure that every resident has the opportunity to benefit from a thriving food system.

The formation of the Taney County Food Policy Coalition marks the first step in a larger community vision. Through collaboration, planning, and shared leadership, we are laying the foundation for a resilient and sustainable food system that will serve Taney County for generations to come.
